The Mansfield Hotel caters to a stylish individual from the entertainment, publishing and fashion industries. A careful restoration added contemporary amenities while preserving the special character of this historic beaux-arts hotel. A turn-of-the-century detailed 16-foot lobby ceiling illuminated with original brass rosettes, a polished and flame cut floor of yellow Bulgarian limestone and Paul Kotlarevsky's "Seated Officer," which stares approvingly from behind the desk, set the tone of dignity and elegance that welcomes visitors to the hotel. A magnificent copper dome in the hotel salon further develops this theme, while Elie Nadelman's 22 original dry point drawings repose dramatically in the library, interspersed among the novels of Dickens, Austen, Doctorow and Hemingway.
